Children's Relief Fund (CRF) is a non-profit organization
founded in 1991 by Rose and Frank Fotia. Their son Gregory had multiple
disabilities and was the inspiration behind CRF. Our group consists of
volunteers who raise money to help fund therapy, equipment, summer programs and
other group activities for disabled children in the Hilton Head Island and
Bluffton area. Working on a volunteer basis only, our Board members include a
local pediatrician, speech and language pathologist, physical therapist
assistant, social worker, local business people and parents.
On
behalf of our local special needs children, Children's Relief Fund:
Funds physical, occupational and speech therapy
for children who do not have Medicaid or whose insurance does not cover these
services.
Purchases equipment for children who otherwise
would not have enjoyed the opportunity to have a new wheelchair, feeding chair,
bracing/orthotics or special educational equipment.
Helps sponsor "Fish with
Friends", a yearly outing organized by Captain Fuzzy and Kim Davis.
Is one of the main financial sponsors for
"Challenge Camp", a summer inclusion program for special needs children,
integrated in the Hilton Head Island Recreation Center camp.
Provides therapeutic horseback riding through
"Heroes on Horseback". Sponsors parent support services.
